DVDemand is a company
focused on advanced digital video applications. The company has achieved
a high level of understanding of the MPEG format and has developed unique
technology that allows any manipulation of compressed MPEG and DVD streams.
Our first product is a fully automated DVD authoring and production system,
which can be operated from the web. By using our technology we managed
to create the fastest DVD authoring engine in the world. The product
has been selling since September 2003, and has since been installed in
several sites in the US.
In parallel the company has developed a process we call "MPEG Fusion".
The process enables mixing of MPEG streams from any source, while keeping
them compressed. The applications for our technology are immense, and
range from DVD through digital broadcast and on to streaming applications
such as video on demand (VOD).
DVDemand's unique technology allows any process traditionally performed in uncompressed video to be performed in compressed video format. Using today's technology, when working with compressed video, one must first decode the compression, perform any process he wishes done and then recompress the video signal. This process in not only a waste of power, it causes a degradation in video quality since each re-compression reduces information.
Our technology eliminates the need for decoding and re-encoding. It speeds up the process, reduces processor cost and delivers a superior quality video signal. Products based on our technology will work faster, be cheaper and produce better quality video.
Another benefit of our technology is the ability to mix compressed video from any source. In a unified communication world, this will allow mixing compressed video from satellites, cable, DVD and the net. This will power new innovative products to the market.
The digital video is enormous and growing at an exponential rate. Some of the largest companies in the world are heavily invested in this market, including Sony, Philips and Broadcom to name a few.
Over 130 television stations have started broadcasting in digital format in the US alone.
Digital Broadcast System (DBS) is quickly becoming the leading television technology in Europe, with hundreds of millions of viewers expected by 2004.
The Digital video revolution is only at its beginning and DVDemand's unique technology can help the major technology companies create powerful, innovative products while keeping their costs down.
